Photos of "Observatorio del Pangue"

back to topics

The touristic observatory "Observatorio del Pangue" is definitly worth a visit.
It is a private observatory run by the French astronomer Eric Escalera, who holds a Ph.D. in Astrophysics.

The tours are very personalized and the entire staff is very competent and friendly.
Their equipments are high quality and there is a wonderful panoramic view with no light-pollution in the surrounding area. The observatory has an altitude of around 1500 m and lies close to the scientific observatory "Tololo"".
The director Eric takes the tourists up himself starting from his office in
downtown Vicuña. He comes across very caring and friendly to the visitors.

Thumbs up for this touristic observatory.
